How to make the background of icon text transparent

One of the XP’s feature is that it can make the background of icon text transparent. Though making background of icon text transparent is easy, there are some unexpected measures which one have to take to make his background of icon text transparent. To background of icon text transparent

1. Click on "Start"
2. Choose "Control Panel"
3. Click on "System Icon"
4. Choose the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" under "Performance"
5. Under the "Visual Effects" tab I Chose (checked) Use Drop Shadows for Icon Labels"

OR
1. Click "Start", and then click "Control Panel".
2. Click "Performance and Maintenance", and then click "System".
3. On the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" under "Performance".
4. Click to clear the "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" check box, click "Apply", and then click "OK" two times.
5. Close Control Panel

If your background of icon text is transparent, its fine. But if it is not you should make sure the following things.

a) "Right-click" on Desktop -> Arrange Icons by -> "Lock Web items" must be cleared (uncheked).

b) If you have any web content on your desktop, transparency won't work. To check for web content:

Control panel -> Display Properties -> Desktop -> Customize -> Desktop ->Web
Now make sure all checkboxes are clear.

c) Wallpaper must be an image file, not html.

Now you should have your background of icon text transparent.
